Easter Fun!

I heard from Angela that she had received the Easter Exchange parcel I sent to her. YAY! I was soo excited about this one, I always love doing exchanges with Angela.
For the stitching goodies I stitched up the LK Easter Flip It block (soo colourful) and made a pinkeep. And then to try something I hadn't done before I found another small LK design in a Spring booklet and decided to stitch it up over one and make a small scissor fob. I have made fobs before, I just haven't stitched over one before. I really enjoyed it as it was also soo colourful and a cute design. I also put some beads around the edges as well.
I found a cute felt Easter bag with a bunny on the front and filled it with different Easter themed goodies including some variation floss, mesh bags, chickens, foam eggs, egg decorating kit, easter egg bags, stickers, rabbit chart, small box to decorate and others. I definately wanted Angela to feel like Easter was coming, thats for sure!

Until next time, happy stitching

Gift for Jody

It was my friend Jody's birthday this week and I sent her a birthday parcel. Its always hard to judge with the postal system when to send things to make sure they arrive in time as Jody lives in the US. I was happy to hear that she had received it in time.
I stitched a design called "Dear Friend" by Elizabeth Designs using a cream linen and the required dmc threads, my choice of finish - a pinkeep. I also included some other goodies in her parcel, seeing as her birthday is close to St Patricks Day and she is also a big fan I included some St Pattie Day items.

Until next time, happy stitching.

River Fish Sampler

I received a robin back in the mail last week. It has been out there for well over a year now. It was part of my CSRR Yahoo group, we had 9 ladies involved and it did have some hiccups where some of the ladies couldn't take part during it, so it has arrived home with 3 fish still to stitch.

I was really pleased with the look of it. When I complete the other fish I have to decide what to make it into, whether to have it framed or make a pillow. Any suggestions?

I have made a little more progress on the Hunt Sampler, I will try to get an updated pic soon. I have just been super busy at work lately that my stitching has been suffering as I'm too exhausted to do anything when I get home.
Until next time, happy stitching.

Beginning of Hunt Sampler

Thank you for all your wonderful comments about my first needlebook in the previous post. I'm soo grateful that you visit my blog and take the time to write such lovely things to me.

As promised here is my progress on the Hunt Sampler. I am enjoying this one. I'm not one for large designs, I tend to stick to smalls and medium size projects, but when I saw this one I knew I had to do it for myself. The only framed piece of cross stitch I have completed is owned by my Mum, so it will be nice to have one myself.

The photo is taken while it is still in my Q-Snap with my cute little snowman Q-Snap hugger attached. Hope you like it soo far.

Take care everyone and happy stitching.

PS Finish

Here is the piece I stitched for my partner in the Year Long PS Exchange for February.
My partner has not placed a picture on the blog and I was not sure she had received it until I saw her name in the sidebar with Received next to it.
Anyway here it is, taken from A Prairie Year booklet and made into a needlebook, my first one actually and I was quite proud of it.

I have started stitching "The Hunt Sampler" as mentioned in my previous post. I found a large piece of natural 32ct linen and I'm using DMC 310 as I want it to be dark and stand out. I have only just finished the first motif of the hunter on the horse and a little of the shapes around him.
Until next time, happy stitching.
