Halloween Stack

I promised an update picture to Angela of her evenweave round robin, so here it is. It was a pretty quick stitch seeing as the colours are in big blocks. Its cute though, and when the bottom is finished and all the backstitching and charms are put on it will look fab. I stitched the top section, starting about half way up the ghost.
I have been stitching alot but I just cant show pictures yet, my needleroll was all finished and has been posted off to my partner, it will probably take 10 days or more to get there, so I have to wait to hear if it arrives safely. I finished up one of my PIF gifts and have all the stuff together for the next one now.

Gaby asked on my last post what "Curves" is, well it is a gym for women only, you work on a circuit of machines that are all weighted the same for everyone and inbetween each machine you have a platform that you just walk on or jog/star jumps what ever you feel like doing, the music plays and every 15 seconds a ladies voice comes over the music saying "Change stations now" so you move to the next in line, you do 2 circuits which amount to approx 30 minutes and then you do stretches. They recommend the least you do it is 3 times a week and that is what I can manage to do due to work committments, but its heaps of fun and seems to be working for me.
Well time to go, until next time, stitch away.....

Another Fob!

I made this fob as a birthday gift for my dear friend Angela. Her birthday isn't until the end of September, however I usually get a parcel together and send it SeaMail in June so it will reach her on time. This parcel seemed to arrive a good month early instead and she just couldn't resist opening it, so I get to show you the finished piece early.

I made this fob the same time I made the other fob for my friend Mary Jo and the tin for Jody, I had a spurt of making gifts for friends.
I managed to finish putting together my needleroll last night for the HOE exchange and will be posting the parcel out in a couple of days to my partner. I really hope they like it, its my second attempt at a needleroll and I am pleased with how it turned out.

I have never mentioned on my blog before about my weight loss goals, I joined Curves in Feb/March this year and changed my eating habits to try to lose some excess weight. I am not considered to be majorly overweight but I am overweight for my height. I have approx 15kgs to lose to be my ideal weight for my height (lowest point), I have already managed to lose 4.9kgs of that but the big difference is in my cm's lost, I have lost a total of 35.5cms all over since going and am now fitting back into my pre pregnancy clothes again..YIPPEE!!!! Most of those cm's have come away from my thighs, abdomen and arms. I am thrilled soo far with the results and have also just recently cut down on wheat products in my eating and am hoping this will help push along the kg's loss.
I wanted to try and lose this extra weight before I considered whether or not to have another baby, as I dont want to be fighting off more weight if I stayed as I am and got pregnant. Decisions, Decisions, I will probably get down to my ideal size and then not want to ruin it. haha!!!

I would love to hear from anyone who is also trying to budge those extra kilo's and if you have any advice on how to get rid of it faster.

Until next time dear friends. Happy Stitching & exercising.

Latest News!

I had a rather eventful weekend just gone, with more finishes looming.
I finally finished the stitching on the needleroll and now just have to put it together, I bought the ribbon for the ends yesterday.
I also finished stitching on Angela's evenweave robin and should have a picture of it tomorrow to show you.
I have now been working on one of my PIF's. I picked up some backing fabric and ribbons yesterday to go with it and should have that one sorted by the end of this week, however photo's will take a bit of time to arrive as I would like to get them all finished and sent together, so no one is left waiting longer.
Thank you for all your lovely comments on my flatfold, I was soo super pleased with it, its nice to hear from others what their thoughts are. In answer to MOM's question in my comments section, I learnt how to do the flatfolds by following Vonna's tutorial, on my side bar is a link to her site, The Twisted Stitcher, and she has a section of tutorial's listed on her side bar, they are easy to follow with photos to show you along the way. Hope this helps!!
I recently signed up for the SBEBB Pumpkin Patch exchange which I am really looking forward to, it will be my first exchange with this group and I'm pretty excited. It looks like there are some exciting exchanges coming up throughout the year here aswell, I think I shall be kept very busy, and I cant wait to start growing my smalls collection.
Thats really all the news I have to tell today. Hope to have some photos for you soon.
Bye for now

LK Flatfold

Karen has received the flatfold I made for her through the Make A Wish Exchange Board.
She wished for a flatfold and her likes were quite varied so I chose a christmas theme of one of her favourite designers "Lizzie Kate".

I really, really enjoyed doing this pattern, the colours were just lovely and then the finishing was fun. I was lucky that my local craft store had just got in some christmas themed fabric and I chose a lovely deep red and gold colour for the backing and some red ribbon with white dashes through it and a contrasting green ribbon with mustard coloured dots for the top feature. I have to admit that it has been one of my favourite finishes to date, and I am soo pleased that Karen loved it.

I have finished working on the stitching for my needleroll, all I have to do now is put it together and post it off. This may be a weekend project.

I am now working on a small evenweave robin that belongs to Angela, its a personal robin between 4 friends. Angela chose the Waxing Moon design "Halloween Stack" and I am stitching the top section which involves the ghost, moon and bat. I should have it finished very soon as it has solid blocks of colour, and then its off to Jody in the US.

Hope one and all have a fabulous weekend and happy stitching to you all.

Here is the picture I promised of the beautiful fob that Diane made for me. It is just the sweetest little fob, stitched over one with little french knots and lovely beads around the outside. Diane also stitched her initials on the back with the year aswell.

I really love it and will treasure it always.

Thank you Diane, I hope to one day repay you for this lovely gift.

Happy stitching everyone.

F&S squares from Diane

I received my beautiful squares from Diane for F&S Round 8. She chose to stitch me a Prairie Schooler design and she stitched it over one. It is really beautiful and intricate and I cant believe how small the stitches are on it, I think I would go blind. Diane is a very talented stitcher, even the back looks amazing, almost like the front, I cant even tell where she has tucked the threads. I really love it Diane and will treasure it always.

Diane also made me another small item that I still need to take a picture of and I will post it tomorrow. It is over one again and just the cutest little gift.
I am still working away on my needleroll for HOE, I definately chose an intricate pattern, it doesn't look it on the picture but it has quite a bit of colour changes in each little item and that is what is taking up the time.
Enjoy your stitching time everyone, until next time.

Sandra C - UK
Thank you ladies for putting your name down for my PIF. I hope you will like what I make for you. If you could all send me your addresses soon so I can keep a record and also a list of your likes and dislikes to make my pattern choice for your PIF a little easier.
